WHY IS YOUR ESTIMATE DIFFERENT THAN ANOTHER ONE I HAVE FOR THE SAME JOB?

While it is not an exhaustive list (we have one of those available to contracted clients), the chart above shows some of the most significant cost drivers on a home build.

There are many selections to make on a project, and each comes with it a range of costs. What you spend is sometimes dictated by taste, but at other times is indicated by neighborhood — saving money by using a cheaper fridge could be a long-term mistake if it becomes a barrier to selling your home in a few years. If your neighborhood is filled with wood windows, we will automatically estimate for wood windows.

When we give you an estimate, we are giving an educated guess on your potential cost based on our best assessment of your current style, and the level of the neighborhood around you. Many items are variable, and if you decide on the cheapest options in every area, we will charge you less.

We are committed to telling you what we think it will actually cost, and not under-bidding to get the work. Usually our estimates tend to get pretty close to what the project will cost — it's one of our strengths that we estimate well.
